Fit For a Princess?

Since becoming engaged, Kate Middleton's fashion choices seem to cover tabloid magazines left and right. Whether she’s making a royal appearance or just taking a stroll down the street, her style is constantly stirring up a fashion frenzy. Yet after I read People Magazine's article, “Kate Middleton's Catwalk Dress Sells for More Than $125,000,” I’m starting to think that maybe her most important fashion choice came well before she would be declared a future princess.

The dress doesn’t seem like much, does it? It’s sheer and simple. And according to People Magazine, “It cost less than $50 to make and was originally intended as a skirt.” Who would have thought that such a dress would grab the attention of a royal prince? I know it’s nowhere near high fashion, but maybe that’s exactly what makes it so special. It’s not a fashion choice I would expect from a future princess. And in a way that symbolizes who Kate truly is, just your typical girl next door.

Watch this video, which features Charlotte Todd. She's the designer behind the much talked about dress!

I think the dress sold for the right price. It’s an iconic piece of clothing in history, no matter how simple it may be. After all, it is responsible for bagging a prince, isn’t it? Tell me what you think. Take today's style poll!
