The Olsen Twins: From Wal-Mart to Runaway Worthy

The Olsen twins are no longer the darlings of Wal-Mart fashion. Their brand at the superstore is a thing of the past. The twins are now responsible for three different fashion lines: Olsenboye, Elizabeth and James and The Row. Each line is diverse, not only in its style, but its cost.

Olsenboye:
As described on its site, the fashion line Olsenboye is “inspired by trends and qualities unique to beloved cities around the world.” Most of the clothes are laid back and causal. The prices are affordable for practically anyone. It’s easy to notice that this line is marketed to an audience of young high school and college girls.

Elizabeth and James:
The inspiration for the name of this fashion line came from the Olsens’ younger sister and brother. The name is perfect for the line, which Ashley Oslen described as being "a clash between masculinity and femininity." The style of this line has a more grown up and sophisticated look than that of Olsenboye. But I guess with sophistication comes higher prices? The clothing from this line will run you about $250 and up.

The Row:
The Row is the Olsens' ultra-luxury line. The clothes from this line were made for the catwalk. In a New York Times article, Ashley Olsen described the line as being “beautiful but practical clothes whose fit and luxurious texture had private meaning to the people who wore them.” I find the styles in this line to give off a simple, chic and glamorous vibe. Looking over its site, I found price ranges from $300 to over $1,000.

Take today's style poll!

My inspirtation behind this blog came from this month's issue of Vogue magazine, which features the Olsen Twins and their line The Row. Check it out!
