Matching is Usually a Good Thing, Right?

After watching a rerun of E!’s "Fashion Police," I had to write on the awful pandemic of women matching their hair to their outfit. We need to come together as a united fashion front to stop this horrendous trend! On the show, Joan Rivers brought up Mary J. Blige’s recent look at the celebration of the amazing, beloved Michael Kors’ 30th year in fashion.

Now I don’t think that this outfit is the greatest choice for her to begin with, but you add in the hair and it’s an absolute mess. I would usually say that matching is a good thing, but one beauty pet peeve of mine is matching your hair to your outfit. It looks so tacky! No matter how beautiful a person may be, this matchy-matchy look transforms you into a walking camouflage stick. It’s too costumey.

There are ways to complement your hair color with an outfit. I think the best example of this recently would be Rihanna on the cover of Vogue magazine. She looked amazing! The little accents of red that match her hair throughout the Chanel dress truly bring out her hair color in the best way possible. This is matching done right! Keep it simple girls.
